Wayne R. Stefaniak, Sr. 57, of Somers, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday (Sept. 9, 2014) in the comfort of his home after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of 35 years to Diana (Shifko) Stefaniak. Wayne was born on September 17, 1956 in Stafford Springs, CT, son of Dorothy (Dubish) Stefaniak of Somers and the late John E. Stefaniak. He had resided in Enfield most of his life and in Somers for the past 9 years. Wayne was employed with Fuji Film Co./Camera Shop in New Britain for over 20 years. He enjoyed coin collecting and spending time with his family especially during the holidays.
Besides his wife Diana, he is survived by his two sons, Wayne R. Stefaniak, Jr of Somers and David W. Stefaniak of Enfield, his beloved grandson David J. Stefaniak. He is also survived by a brother Mark Stefaniak of Orange, MA and a sister Alice Bishop & her husband Andrew of Enfield, his sister-in-law Lorraine Overly & husband Robert, and brother-in-law Carl Shifko & wife Connie all of PA, along with many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may gather with his family on Friday (September 12, 2014) from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Saturday (Sept. 13, 2014) with the procession forming at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home to St. Adalbert Church 90 Alden Ave. Enfield for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Somers Center Cemetery Battle St. in Somers. Memorial donations in Wayne’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 3704 Memphis, TN 38173-3704.
