Joseph  John  Marcinowski, Jr.
Joseph John Marcinowski, Jr., 77, passed away on Tuesday October 7, 2014 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 55 years, Nancy Marcinowski, his mother Ursula Marcinowski, his children; daughter Susan Joyse and her husband Mark, daughter Lori Hannan, daughter Carol O’Konis and her husband Tim, and former son-in-law David Badura, his grandchildren Kristen and Thomas Joyse, Chase Badura, Kaitlyn and Michelle O’Konis. He also leaves his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gary and Carolyn Stepsis, his two nephews Garrett & Joseph Stepsis and niece Cynthia Germack and her husband David, two great nieces Monica and Megan Germack and many dear friends. Joe was predeceased by his father Joseph John Marcinowski, Sr.
First and foremost, Joe was a hard worker and devoted husband, son, father and grandfather. His family always came first. Joe served in the US Army and was stationed at the 38th Parallel during the Korean Conflict. During his working career he worked at Stanadyne Inc. for over 25 years and then at Hamilton Sundstrand until his retirement. After retirement Joe worked at various part time jobs, the last being at the YMCA in Ellington. Joe loved working at the Y and the people he worked with. He was well liked and treated as one of the family.
Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Friday Oct. 10, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Saturday Oct. 11 with the funeral procession forming at 10:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Bernard Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Indian Valley YMCA, 11 Pinney St. Ellington, CT 06029.
