Joseph C.  Kokofsky
Joseph C. Kokofsky, 88, of Enfield entered into eternal rest on Thursday April 16, 2015 peacefully in the comfort of his home. He was the beloved husband of 55 years to Frances (Elliot) Kokofsky. Joseph was born on March 20 1927 in Suffield, CT, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Censki) Kokofsky and resided in Enfield for many years and in Suffield before that.
Prior to retiring in November 2014 Joseph was employed with the Town of Enfield as a custodian at JFK Middle School for over 25 years. He loved his family and life, was always making people laugh and smile. Joe was huge NY Yankees & NY Giants fan. An avid fisherman he was always bragging about his catches, his favorite fishing hole was the Scantic River.
Besides his wife Frances, he is survived by his children; Joseph W. Kokofsky of Enfield, David P. Kokofsky of Enfield and Patricia A. Mitchell & husband Wayne of Willington, his two cherished grandchildren; Sarah Mitchell and Wayne Mitchell, Jr. Joseph is also survived by his brother; Stanley Kokofsky & wife Helen of Enfield, two sisters; Pauline Maskimoski of Windsor and Millie Poirer of Agawam, MA, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and his best friend Billy Maznicki. He was also predeceased by his siblings; Barney, Eddie, Johnny, Stella & Helen.
Relatives and friends are invited to join with his family during calling hours on Monday April 20, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday April 21, with the funeral procession forming at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home to St. Adalbert Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Adalbert’s Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart/Stroke Association, P.O. Box 417005 Boston, MA 02241-7005.
