Maria Diaz-Santana 89, of Enfield CT., passed peacefully into the Heart of God on Sunday June 28, 2015. She passed into Eternal Life in her home in Enfield Ct surrounded by her children and family she loved and cherished. She returned to the loving embrace of her late husband, Pablo Diaz-Santana and son Juan Diaz-Rivera who are waiting with open arms. Maria was born January 21, 1926 in Comerio Puerto Rico, a beloved daughter of Paula Sanchez and Juan Pedro Rivera. She traveled to many countries with her late husband who was in US army. Her gentle manner, compassionate listening and cheerful demeanor endeared her, to her large family, neighbors, and parishioners at St. Martha's Enfield CT. She married her best friend and true love on February 17, 1945 in Comerio Puerto Rico. Together they began their family. Beloved mother to Maria Diaz -Santana, Pablo Diaz-Rivera Jr.(Deceased ), Olga Ellis, Irma Bohaczyk, Norberto Diaz-Rivera, Arnaldo Diaz-Rivera,Jorge Diaz-Rivera and Gloria Diaz-Rivera. She gracefully embraced Carmen Iris Diaz-Rivera and Peter Werner as her children. Maria and Pablo were married for 61 years and in these 61 years of happiness together their family grew with many daughter in-laws, son in-laws, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. Her family welcomes all to join in a Catholic mass at St. Martha's Church, Enfield CT. on July 2, 2015 at 12:30 pm. After services Maria will continue to her final resting place to join her loving husband Pablo Diaz-Santana at the national cemetery in Hato Tejas Bayamon Puerto Rico. A gathering will follow and will be announced after the church services
