Obituary for Eugene "Gene" G. Moreau

Eugene "Gene" G.  Moreau
Eugene “Gene” G. Moreau, of Enfield, entered into eternal life on Thursday July 2, 2015, peacefully in the comfort of his home with loved ones at his side. He was born on Nov. 20, 1940 in Nashua, NH, to the late Henry A. and Eugenie (Thibodeau) Moreau and had resided in Enfield since 1965 and in New Hampshire before that. Gene served his country proudly with the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and then enlisted with the Coast Guard Reserve. Prior to retiring in 2005 Gene was employed with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for over 40 years. He was an active member and communicant of St. Martha Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus Rev. John B. O'Connell Council 14600, and the William B. Kilcoyne Assembly 4th Degree, American Legion in Rocky Hill, CT, and was involved with the former Troop #186 Boys Scouts of America. In his younger years he enjoyed camping, reading, building model ships and trains, a very devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather who was very involved with their activities, his family was his pride, joy and love of his life.
Gene is survived by his four beloved sons; Timothy Moreau & wife Lesa, Patrick Moreau & wife Stacy, Christopher Moreau all of Enfield and Michael Moreau of Ellington, his five cherished and loved grandchildren; Jason, Andre, Dakota, Samantha and Collette, and his three adored great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings; Richard, Paul, Oscar, Henry, Alice and Luscienne along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was also predeceased by his former wife the late Elaine (Therrien) Moreau, his siblings; Rene, Lorrette and Marcel.
Gene’s family will receive relatives and friends during calling hours on Wednesday July 8, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Funeral services will take place on Thursday July 9, 2015 with the funeral procession forming at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Martha Church 214 Brainard Rd. Enfield for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow with military honors in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery in Enfield. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, Tribute Program, P.O. Box 3704, Memphis, TN 38173-3704.
