Obituary for Timothy M. Hatch

Timothy M. Hatch
Timothy M. Hatch, 58, of Enfield, died Sunday Aug. 23, 2015, after an all too brief struggle with cancer. Tim was born Dec. 30, 1956, in Manchester, CT, the son of Donald and Judith Hatch. He lived in Enfield most of his life, and in Maine for several years. He graduated from Lisbon High School in Lisbon Falls, Maine, in 1975, and returned to Connecticut in 1981.
He spent most of his life restoring battered cars to make them look like new, before his career ended when he dislocated his shoulder several years ago. He worked for One Stop Auto Body in East Windsor and Fathers & Sons Volkswagon in West Springfield.
Tim loved Volvos. He repaired them, rebuilt them, and restored them, He was most proud of the Volvo1800SE that he restored and drove for many years. He traveled the Northeast going to Volvo events. He collected them and found them for family and friends.
Tim is survived by his mother, Judith (Hatch) Whitehead of Enfield; his brother, Daniel Hatch, and his wife, Faith Thompson of Springfield; his sisters, Ruth Monroe and her husband Jim of Enfield; Tracey Morin and her husband, Bill, of Enfield; and Jody Balboni of South Carolina; 12 cousins, especially Ben Wagg and his wife Suzanne, of Madison, Maine, who was like a twin brother to him; nephews John Nieroda and his wife, Aimee, of Enfield, Ben Wonneberger of Enfield, and Ryan, Zachary, and Nicholas Balboni of Granby; nieces Tracey Nieroda of East Windsor, Nicole Nieroda of Enfield, Sarah DeMaio and her husband Mark of East Granby, and Rachel, Essie, and Neaveh Balboni of South Carolina; close friend Steve Coope, who stood by him in his last weeks; and the most loyal of all friends, his Rottweiler Trooper, who was with him on his final day and most reluctant to leave.
The family wishes to express its heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff on the third floor of Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford for their kind and attentive care in Tim’s final days.
Family and friends may gather during calling hours on Sunday Aug. 30, from 2 to 4 p.m. with a funeral service immediately following with Pastor Barry Andrusik officiating at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
