Obituary for Isabella Basile (Antonini)
Isabella (Antonini) Basile, 84, formerly of Enfield, loving wife of 62 years to the late Anthony J. Basile, entered into eternal life on Monday Oct. 5, 2015.
She was born on May 30, 1931 in Bari, Italy, the daughter of the late Emilio and Angela (Lorusso) Antonini. She moved to France in her teens where she worked as a seamstress in Paris. In 1952 she met Anthony and they were married and moved to America. They raised their family in Enfield and she continued to work as a seamstress in many boutiques and shops. For many years she also taught alterations and tailoring for Enfield Adult Education.
Isabella is survived by her three loving daughters; Anna Lassow & husband Lewis of Glastonbury, Angela Haddad of Glastonbury and Isabella Podeszwa & husband Christopher of Waterford, her eight cherished grandchildren; Nicholas Lassow and fiancée Allison Krouse, Abbe Lassow & husband Jonathan Clancy, Evan Lassow, Philip and Samuel Haddad, and Sophia, Connor and Emilia Podeszwa.
Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Wednesday Oct. 7, 2015from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Church corner of Pearl & High Streets in Enfield. Interment will take place in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery, Enfield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Masonicare Partners Home Health & Hospice, 111Founders Plaza Suite 200 East Hartford, CT 06108.
