Obituary for Judith A "Judy" Hanna (Braica)

Judith “Judy” (Braica) Hanna, 77, of Enfield, beloved wife of Lawrence E. Hanna, Sr. entered into eternal life, Monday, November 16, 2015, at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford Springs, CT. Born August 21, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Rita (Miller) Braica. She grew up and attended school in the “South End” as she would say, of Springfield, MA. Shortly after graduating from high school, she met, fell in love with and married Lawrence, the love of her life. Shortly after marrying, they moved to Enfield, CT where they built their family home. Judy and Lawrence, who was her best friend, did everything together. They enjoyed going to craft fairs and long drives in autumn, her favorite time of year, to view the foliage while listening to Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. They enjoyed going out to dinners and visiting her favorite spot, The Christmas Tree Shop. Judith loved decorating her home for the holidays, especially Christmas.Besides her husband, Judith leaves her children, Kimberly DeGray and partner Andrew Bak, Karen Clarke and husband Brian, Kathleen Caronna and husband Anthony, Lawrence Hanna, Jr. and wife Gina, and Karol Lawlor and husband Christopher; 12 grandchildren, Jamie, Anthony, Andrew, Brian , Jr., Daniel , Jr., Brendan, Michael, Nicole, Olivia, Meaghan, Ethan and Abigail. She also leaves 3 great grandsons, Jonathan, Jace and Jionni and 2 nephews Michael Braica and Gregory Braica and wife Debra, along with special brother-in-law and sister-in-law Donald and Christine Hanna their children and many more brothers and sisters-in-law. Judith also leaves Janice Forgetta Berube, a special person in her life, who she thought of as another daughter. She was predeceased by her sister Joyce Braica and her father and mother-in-law. Relatives and friends may gather with Judith’s family during calling hours on Thursday, November 19, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015 with the procession forming at the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. to St. Martha Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Patrick King St. Cemetery.
