Obituary for Richard H. "Rich" Fontaine

Richard H. "Rich"  Fontaine
Richard “Rich” H. Fontaine, 71, of Enfield, CT, beloved husband of Janine (Nadeau) Fontaine, died Monday, July 28, 2014, at home, surrounded by his family. He was born August 26, 1942 in Hartford, son of the late George A. and Christine (Warren) Fontaine.
Prior to retiring Rich worked in the sales and service division of various manufacturing companies. He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, a member of the Rev. John B. O'Connell Council # 4600 Knights of Columbus, Enfield and a member of the Rev. William P Kilcoyn Assembly 4th Degree and the Color Guard. Rich was also a communicant of St. Bernard Church. Rich gave his time and guidance as a Boy Scout leader, a CCD teacher, and volunteered at the Enfield Loaves and Fishes. In his leisure time he enjoyed golf, fishing, woodworking and his dogs. Above all, his greatest joy was spending time with his family and being “Papa” to his grandchildren.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, Rich will be deeply missed by his children, Suzette and Donald Lempitsky , Alisa and Paul Dubreuil, Jannette Tedone, and Christopher and Cheryl Fontaine; grandchildren Bryanna, Miranda, Morgan, Michael and Liz, Taylor, Kelly, Stephanie and Tony, Rachel, Nicholas, Benjamin, Madelynn, Halle and Charleigh; great grandchildren, Lucas and Lana. He also leaves his brothers, Robert and Laura, Ronald and Christine and his sister Joan. He was predeceased by his grandchildren, Michelle and Peytann.
A Mass of Christian Burial, in Celebration of Rich’s life, will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, July 31, 2014 at St. Bernard Church. Burial will follow in Hazardville Cemetery. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 30, from 4 to 8 pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd Enfield. Memorial Donations in Rich’s memory may be made to St. Vincent de Paul c/o St. Bernard Church 426 Hazard Ave. Enfield, CT 06082.
