Obituary for Thomas E. "Tom" Burbank

Thomas “Tom” E. Burbank, 67, beloved husband for 35 years to Lillian M. (Vella) Burbank, entered into eternal rest, Monday Sept. 22, 2014. Born in Hartford on Feb. 13, 1947, he was the son of Melvin L. and the late Rita (Meunier) Burbank. Prior to his retirement, Tom was the owner and operator of Burbank Landscaping for over 30 years. He was a member and a past Commodore of the Pattaconk Yacht Club. A man with many interests, Tom enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, auto racing, traveling and cooking, but what he loved the most was making wonderful memories with his 3 beautiful grandchildren. A loving husband, son, father, grandfather and brother Tom is survived by his children, Frank Tammaro and wife Cheryl of Windsor Locks, Neil Tammaro and wife Terry of Enfield; Buddy his faithful dog; his grandchildren, Jordan, Casey and Nicholas Tammaro; his brother and sister, Kenneth Burbank of E. Hartford and Donna Ryan of Allegany, NY, his brother-in-law Robert Vella and wife Nancy of Ponte Vedra, FL and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Tom was predeceased by his sister Beverly Campbell and uncle Edward Burbank. Funeral services will be held Friday Sept. 26, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road Enfield, CT, to St. Patrick Church 64 Pearl St., Enfield for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Hazardville Cemetery. Tom’s family will receive friends on Thursday Sept. 25, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations in Tom’s memory may be made to the American Heart Assoc. or the CT Humane Society.
