Obituary for George J. Dobitsky, Sr.

George J.  Dobitsky, Sr.
George J. Dobitsky, Sr., 78, of Enfield entered into eternal life on Sunday (December 7, 2014) at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, MA. He was the beloved husband of 53 years to the late Helen H. (Shlatz) Dobitsky (2012). George was born on Oct. 10, 1936 the son of the late John and Mary (Mikalonis) Dobitsky and had resided in Somers for 25 years and Enfield for 15 years. He served his country proudly with the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War.
George worked for many years as a Grocery broker and later was self-employed as owner and operator of Liberty Laundromat & Cleaners, also Fresh Farms Mart in the Scitico section of Enfield. He was a former member of All Saints Church in Somers, and a member of St. Bernard Church, Enfield.
George is survived by his son, George J. Dobitsky, Jr. of Enfield, his daughter, Nancy DeAlba & son-in-law John DeAlba of Ellington, and son, Gary Landry & his companion Fernandina Sinacore of Enfield, his four adored grandchildren, Michael DeAlba, Mark DeAlba, Samantha Landry, and Jenna Dobitsky, and great grandchildren, Brittany (DeAlba) Hudson, Kelsey and Ryan DeAlba, great-great granddaughter, Kayla, along with many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by two brothers, John H. Dobitsky and Frank R. Dobitsky and a sister, Rose Ramsey. Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Friday (Dec. 12, 2014) from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Saturday (Dec. 13), with the funeral procession forming at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Bernard Church 426 Hazard Ave. for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow with military honors in the Hazardville Cemetery in Enfield. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Assoc., Founders Affiliate P.O. Box 417005 Boston, MA 02241-7005.
